The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is a globally connected, forward-looking, comprehensive research-intensive university. Established in 1976, UAEU is currently ranked the #1 university in the UAE, #6 in the Arab World and #390 Worldwide. The university has taken a step up once again among the world’s best young universities in the latest rankings by QS, where it is listed among the top 50 universities under 50 years.
The university currently enrolls approximately 14,000 students from 64 countries. As the UAE’s flagship university, UAEU offers a full range of accredited, high-quality graduate and undergraduate programs through nine Colleges: Business and Economics; Education; Engineering; Food and Agriculture; Humanities and Social Sciences; IT; Law; Medicine and Health Sciences; and Science.
There is a great diversity in the teaching faculty, representing about 65 nationalities. Most of them are leading researchers and scholars, supporting the university’s vision of achieving research excellence at an international level.
In 2010 UAEU moved to a new, state-of-the-art campus in Al Ain. The campus features the most modern architecture, zones for specialized research centers, cutting edge IT network infrastructure, classrooms and labs that feature the latest equipment and instructional technology to enhance student learning, an expansive library offering vast physical and electronic resources, and two world class health clubs equipped with latest fitness equipment and two Olympic-sized swimming pools.
UAEU continues to work with its partners in industry to provide research solutions to challenges faced by the nation, the region, and the world. The university has established 9 research centers which are advancing knowledge in the seven key area of strategic importance to the UAE. These are renewable energy, transportation, education, health, technology, water resources and space exploration. In addition, the university has also established a Science and Innovation Park.
