Higher education and industry meet again at 9th QS WorldClass
The 9th QS WorldClass seminar concluded successfully on April 6, 2016; continuing last year’s warmly welcomed topic of university-industry collaboration. The specific theme of the seminar this year was Innovation for Knowledge-based Economies: Education, Research and Governance.
University heads and industry representatives from around the globe gathered in a truly world-class destination, Resorts World Sentosa - Equarius Hotel, Singapore. The seminar discussions and presentations mainly focused on the topic of university-business partnership and its effects on higher education traditions, practices and policies as well as its role in business productivity and competitiveness and its short- and long-term impacts on the regions.
The seminar was the biggest in its history with 124 participants from 71 institutions in 22 countries. The speaking program was executed smoothly with 23 speakers on 21 topics. Among the speakers were representatives from some of the world’s most successful corporations, including Siemens, Rolls-Royce and Shell.
