Taipei Medical University, 600 metres away from the world’s second tallest building - Taipei 101 building, has been a leader in Taiwan’s health system for more than half a century due to its research, teaching excellence, internationalisation and outstanding medical service. Taipei Medical University has seven colleges including College of Medicine, College of Oral Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Public Health and Nutrition, College of Nursing, College of Medical Science and Technology and College of Humanities and Social Sciences and owns three Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited hospitals with a total capacity over 3100 beds.

TMU leads in quite a few research areas including Cancer Research, Translational Medicine Research, Neuroregenerative Medicine Research, Biomedical Devices and Tissue Engineering Research, Reproductive Medicine Research and Biomedical Informatics Research. TMU has several top-notch research centers such as Center of Excellence for Cancer Research, Center of Excellence for Clinical Trial and Research in Neuroscience, Centre of Excellence for Stroke Research, Center of Excellence for Biomedical Implants and Microsurgery Devices. TMU collaborates with many international prestigious universities and institutes on cancer and neurotrauma research such as National Institutes of Health, Johns Hopkins University, Academia Sinica, and National Health Research Institute. In 2012 QS Subject Rankings, TMU is ranked as one of the world’s top 100 universities in the Subject of Medicine (only 2 in Taiwan).

TMU’s commitment to internationalisation has resulted in 35,000 alumni improving health systems in over 100 countries around the world. More than 5500 students from over 31 countries are enrolled in TMU’s seven colleges, and most master’s degree and doctoral programs offer instruction in English.
